Bad Idea Becomes Reality

When the battalion was first formed my Dad and I mailed out a joke to all the battalion members one Christmas. It was a top ten list (inspired by David Lettermen) of Civil War “Christmas gifts that never made it”. As we mailed it from a post office in Virginia and we never signed it, for several years folks tried to figure out who sent it. The list included:
