I am not familiar with Harpers Ferry NHP so I can't make the comparison. It's probably your usual NPS fare. They prefer interaction with the public to be in third person. Our rules for the event between civilian reenactors is first person in the vil…
I think I shall. I've gone to the civilian event at Harpers Ferry for so many years, I've gotten a bit bored with it, to tell the truth.
Is there any set schedule of activities, or is it simply improv? Also, the site is NPS, if my memory serves me…
Bob,
Come on up! There is "stuff" (I do not have a background in geology or a much of a memory) laying all around the village leftover from when the furnace was operating. You know, those little black rock looking thingamajiggies! ...just having fun…
Bob,
While there are no stocks there. I am sure a suitable punishment area could be found.
Maybe we could use the blacksmith shop to do some branding of mischief makers.

Thanks Greg; I found them last night by simply using the "search" function! (DOH!!)
Hopewell Furnace is a very cool site. It has the perfect "set and setting" for a civilian event. Plus my lifelong interest in the geology, mining and smelting of ir…
Bob, I don't know you well but am Terri Leamer's husband. I do hope you reconsider your decision, I look forward to becoming more involved in the hobby and you sound like the kind of individual I would enjoy listening to around the fire. I believe t…
Hi Terri & Heidi,
Enjoyed our short conversation at the PSL meeting. Look forward to interaction with our civilian contingent and will be happy to help where I can to make things happen. I can be a little clueless about these things at times however so best to give me some idea in advance what your plan is. Then whenever/whereever I can be of assistance in helping you to pull off a scenario it will be my pleasure to do so.
Regards, Brandon

I was reading in Si Klegg about a scenario where they were out on picket duty and at a farm that had a cow. One of the boys decided to get himself some milk while the other stood guard. What would be the odds of you bringing a cow with you to an event?
I am sure we could get Peter or Micah to go and milk it..
It is in the misc folder on the last page I think.
