PRIDGEON'S SHENANDOAH LEGION

Progressing our Hobby

I stumbled upon Ning today and think I might have found the technical solution to bring an organization together virtually. Over the years I have seen groups disband because only a few key members in a group maintain the communication needed to keep members interested and the org relevant.

An organization like the PSL is made up of different sub organizations and in turn made up by those members. The challenge here is finding a suitable way to empower the organization, its member units, and in turn its members. Our new PSL page on Ning is an experiment to see if this will breathe new life into the organization.

Please explore our page, become a member, and contribute your thoughts to this little experiement.

Technology can be both a great thing and at the same time a monkey wrench in the works. While we can send out more information faster and to more people in the groups (assuming they have emails), the problem is that unless people respond and participate, you may have the same small clan of people talking and you are back to square one.
Even in this modern day and age, sometimes nothing beats a quick phone call before an event to see who will be attending.
